V26-1334 : QUARTERLY STATEMENT OF RENT ARREARS

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services provided the following statement of rent arrears for the period 1 October 1998 to 31 December 1998:

Projected gross rental for year £12,076,486
Rent Arrears for quarter £409,878
Rent arrears for quarter as % of gross rental 3.39%
Rent arrears for same quarter in 1997, 1996 2.18%, 2.45%

The Director pointed out that arrears always showed an increase over the Christmas period. Already, by 12 January 1999, they had reduced to 1.81%, and the Department would be working hard over the remaining three months to achieve a best ever year end figure.

RESOLVED

That the Quarterly Statement of Rent Arrears be received.
