V26-1327 : BLUE FLAG MARINA AWARD - 1999 ENTRY
The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a request from the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club for a grant of £250 towards the £500 cost of entering Lowestoft Marina for a Blue Flag Marina Award.
A grant for this particular purpose did not meet the usual criteria for a Leisure Grant, and would reduce the amount available for other applications. However, it was considered that the grant should be made, as a Blue Flag Marina award would be valuable in promoting a positive image of Lowestoft and Waveney, and in supporting the local tourism industry. RESOLVED
That a grant of £250 be made to the Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club towards their entry of the Lowestoft Marina into the 1999 Blue Flag Marina Award competition, to be met from the Leisure Grants budget.
