V26-1326 : MINOR PROJECT GRANT - SOUTHWOLD TENNIS CLUB

The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a request from the Southwold Tennis Club seeking grant aid towards a project to refurbish the tennis courts at Hotson Road, Southwold. The estimated capital cost of the works was £40,000, of which £4,000 would be raised from the club's own funds and £5,000 from a local trust. Other funding was also being sought.

The project was in line with the Sports Development programme for tennis in the District, and it was proposed that a grant of £4,000 be offered to the club towards this project, subject to the grant becoming payable only if the full funding package was achieved. The club would also be required to satisfy the Director on the quality and viability of the proposals.

RESOLVED

That a Minor Project Capital Grant of £4,000 be offered to Southwold Tennis Club towards the refurbishment of the Hotson Road facility, subject to the full funding package being achieved.
