V26-1321 : BENACRE NESS TO THORPENESS COASTAL STUDY

APPROVAL TO AWARD CONTRACT

The report of the Director of Community Services advised that the Council was leading a partnership project with Suffolk Coastal District Council and the Environment Agency to undertake a coastal study to develop a Strategy Plan for the implementation of Shoreline Management Policies over the coastline from Kessingland to Thorpeness.

The tenders received had been subject to a value appraisal procedure to assess quality and price within an agreed framework. The resulting value scores had determined the most favourable bid, which was not the lowest priced bid but which had come top on quality. Approval to award was required both to satisfy the funding approval procedures of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food and also Standing Order 6.10.

RESOLVED

That Halcrow be commissioned to undertake the Benacre Ness to Thorpeness Coastal Study, in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 6.10.
