V26-1320 : MATERIALS RECLAMATION FACILITY - PROGRESS UPDATE
The report of Director of Community Services and Director of Housing and Environmental Services updated members on the progress of works and provision of equipment at the Materials Reclamation Facility. The target date for opening the Facility was the beginning of April 1999.
Anti-Waste were preparing a bid to go to the County Council for a household waste reception area for use by the general public, and the possibility of an Environmental Education Centre was moving closer, with the head teachers of local schools appearing very interested in the idea. Funding was being investigated through the Landfill Tax Credit scheme, Area 5b funding and the New Opportunities Fund of the National Lottery.
RESOLVED
That the progress report on the Materials Reclamation Facility be received, and that a further report be presented when the Facility is operational.
