V26-1309 : BID FOR NEW EXTENDED NORTH LOWESTOFT CONSERVATION AREA

PARTNERSHIP SCHEME

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control gave details of a proposed bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a Townscape Heritage Initiative Scheme from 2000 to 2003, for the North Lowestoft (High Street) Conservation Area. The scheme would continue the conservation work currently underway and assist with the continued regeneration of the High Street area.

RESOLVED

1. That a bid to the Lottery Fund/English Heritage, of £31,000 between 1999 and 2003, for a Townscape Heritage Initiative Scheme for North Lowestoft (High Street) Conservation Area, based on continuing existing levels of conservation and scores funding as set out in the report, be approved.

2. That the Capital Programme budget allocation for Arnold's Bequest, Lowestoft, for 2000-2001, be confirmed as partnership funding if the bid is successful.
