V26-1307 : LOWESTOFT PACKAGE SETTLEMENT

The report of the Director of Community Services informed members that the Department of Transport and the Regions had allocated £450,000 capital funding to Lowestoft for 1999/2000.

This followed a successful Lowestoft Package Bid submitted by Suffolk County Council within their Transport Policies and Programme 1999/2000 document. The amount represented a 50% increase on the 1998/99 settlement and a 600% increase on 1997/98.

Reports on the individual schemes would be brought to Committee in due course.

RESOLVED

That the 1999/2000 Lowestoft Package Settlement be welcomed.

(Councillor Graham declared an interest in the above and left the room during the debate).
