The report of the Chief Executive set out a method by which future sponsorship of Business Link in Waveney could be considered. It suggested a move away from core sponsorship of the organisation to a relationship built around financial support for specific local service delivery.

The Chief Executive drew attention to the importance of Business Link in matters of European funding, citing their endorsement of the counselling services to be supplied to tenants of the new North East Suffolk Business Centre development on South Lowestoft Industrial Estate as a prerequisite in the release of Objective 5b funds.

RECOMMENDED

That future Council sponsorship of Business Link be based on support for specific local service delivery rather than core sponsorship.
