V26-122 : PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES IN THE KIRKLEY SRB AREA

The revised report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services identified four properties in the Kirkley SRB Area that were presently subject to enforcement action as the number of flats exceeded the Planning Permission. The owners had appealed and were awaiting determination by the Planning Inspectorate. The properties, subsequently empty, were 15 Grosvenor Road, 14, 23 and 25 Cleveland Road.

Suffolk Heritage Housing Association had indicated a willingness to return the properties to family dwellings by purchasing them in advance of Grant payment. They would then make Grant applications in respect of two properties in 1998/99 and defer Grant claims on the other two until 1999/2000.

RESOLVED

1. That a commitment be made to providing Local Authority Social Housing Grant to Suffolk Heritage Housing Association to a total of £67,000 in 1998/99 and £67,000 in 1999/2000.
