Application for construction of new house and garage.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned the above application to erect a dwelling in the garden of a residential property, with a double garage and access off Blackmill Road. The design would relate directly to the existing form of the Victorian terrace in York Road, and greenery would be left in place so the building would not be unduly prominent.

The Director recommended approval, and members concurred with this view with the addition of a condition that roofing materials should be similar to those existing nearby, and that a Tree Preservation Order should be served.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W17169, subject to a Tree Preservation Order to protect trees on the site, and use of roofing materials similar to those on nearby properties.
