Application for construction of community sports facility including floodlighting.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above proposal to construct an all-weather multi-use games area including floodlights within the boundary of Halesworth Middle School had not attracted any objections. However, the floodlights would be visible from most directions, and care and control would be necessary to minimise light spillage and glare.

The Director recommended approval, subject to control of hours of use and investigation of minimum floodlight nuisance.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W1997/10, subject to control of hours of use and investigation of measures to reduce glare from floodlights.

(Councillors Leverett and Whitlow declared an interest in the above item and left the room during the debate).
