V26-1191 : 1 TIMBERLEY COTTAGES, BECCLES ROAD, HENHAM BUILDERS YARD AND OFFICE

The report or the Director of Planning and Building Control informed members that the above property was one of a pair semi-detached cottages within an isolated pocket of development on the west side of Beccles Road, Henham. Building materials were being delivered to and stored within the curtilage of the building and a portacabin being used as an office.

The property had only a a domestic access, situated on a fast stretch of road where a business activity was not to be encouraged. The business use was considered to have an adverse impact upon the adjoining property and the adjacent property to the north in terms of visual amenity and general activity associated with the use. Despite requests to cease the activity the use still continued.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to take enforcement action to bring about the cessation of the activity and removal of the portacabin at 1 Timberley Cottages, Beccles Road, Henham.
