Application for erection of a two storey side extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above was a very modest cottage with two single storey extensions on either side of the dwelling and a small conservatory extension to the front. A previously approved scheme to extend the cottage while retaining the traditional character within the Conservation Area had now been enlarged to an extent that it would dominate the original cottage, and the detailing was out of character. The case for an extension was strong, and a more sympathetic scale and design had been devised by the Council's Design and Conservation Officer. The Director recommended approval of this revised scheme.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W8884/4 as agreed by the Design and Conservation Officer and the applicant.
