Application for first floor side extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined a proposal to extend the main roof of the above dwelling over an existing ground floor flat roof extension. A dormer window would also be inserted within the roof extension. A previous application incorporating a much larger dormer window extension was refused because of potential adverse impact on the neighbour's property. The applicant had now scaled down the proposed extension by 1.8 metres, reducing the impact. The neighbours continued to object on grounds of loss of light to rear windows, but the recommendation of the Director was, on balance, for approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W5507/4.
