V26-1177 : W17189 - 35 UPLANDS CLOSE, CARLTON COLVILLE

Application for single storey front extension.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control concerned a proposed extension to the above property which was set on the junction of Uplands Close and Mayfield Road and was one of a row of modern detached properties. The dwelling was situated closer to the road frontage than adjoining properties, and the proposed front extension would have a significant impact on the street scene, and could not be recommended.

Whilst agreeing with the Director's decision, members felt there was scope for a smaller, more sympathetic front extension.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W17189, incorporating a smaller, more sympathetic front extension.
