V26-1170 : W14724/2 - UNIT 49, PINBUSH ROAD, SOUTH LOWESTOFT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
Application to raise height of scrap metal and height of fence - variation of conditions 4 and 7 of W14724/1.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined the existing planning consent for the above, which restricted the height of scrap on the site to no more than two metres. The applicant was presently in breach of this restriction, but stated there was currently little movement in his industry and therefore had applied to stack scrap up to 4.6 metres in height. This would be unsightly on this fairly prominent site, and would have an adverse impact on neighbouring properties in terms of visual amenity and potential danger. The application had also breached a previous planning condition in that he had not provided parking space on site for customers, who as a result were forced to park on the road.
The Director recommended refusal of the application and enforcement against the breaches of planning consent W14724/1.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W14724/2, and the Chief Executive be authorised to instigate Enforcement Action to ensure compliance with the conditions of W14724/1 and to take all pursuant action.
