V26-1117 : LAND ADJACENT TO 33 SANDS LANE, BONDS MEADOW, OULTON
The report of the Director of Community Services outlined an approach by the owner of 33 Sands Lane, Oulton, concerning the possible purchase of a 150 square metres strip of land, which was in Council ownership, between his property and the adjacent access track, which was owned by others. The owner of No. 33 wished to plant some trees to tidy the land, but did not wish to include it within the curtilege of his property.
The Director of Planning and Building Control considered that this land could be included in the future designation of Bonds Meadow as a Local Nature Reserve. Declaring a site as a Local Nature Reserve required the Council to have a legal interest in the land, and the sale of open space was also against existing Council policy. The preference was therefore that Council ownership should be retained.
RESOLVED
That the small strip of land of approximately 150 square metres adjacent to 33 Sands Lane, Bonds Meadow, Oulton, be not sold.
