V26-1114 : FLINT HOUSE, HIGH STREET, LOWESTOFT
The report of the Director of Community Services reminded members that a report on the future of Flint House was considered by this Committee on 30 November 1998. Subsequently, officers had initiated discussions with the owner of Flint House regarding possible terms and conditions of a short-term lease arrangement for Flint House. The running costs of the Council using Flint House had since been discovered to be high, and the Council did not therefore intend to take on a lease. However, all possible assistance would be given to the owner in finding a suitable lessee.
RESOLVED
That, in view of the high ongoing running costs of the Council using Flint House, the Council do not take on a lease, but assist the owner to find lessees and funding for his desired long-term use of the premises for heritage purposes.
