V26-1112 : COAST PROTECTION WORKS NORTH OF CORTON VILLAGE
The report of the Director of Community Services advised that works were required to improve the performance of defences protecting cliffs from Corton Village to the Suffolk boundary. A scheme had been prepared, at an estimated cost of £70,000, which would be funded from the coast protection maintenance budget. Tenders were received on 11 January 1999, and completion was sought by 31 March 1999.
The works were proposed to take place on land in private ownership which had required the preparation of legal agreements with the landowners. Authorisation was sought to complete these Agreements to allow the works to proceed.
RESOLVED
That authority be given for the Council to enter into legal agreements with two landowners to enable necessary coast protection works to proceed at two sites north of Corton village.
