V26-1109 : LEISURE REVENUE GRANTS 1999/2000

The report of the Director of Community Services set out the Leisure Revenue Grant applications for 1999/2000. A total budget of £76,400 was proposed of which £69,600 was to be allocated initially, with the remaining £6,800 being held in the general grants fund to allow applications received during the financial year to be considered.

There were 40 applications to a total value of £91,055, and they were considered for the first time using the revised criteria adopted by the Council. This included the policy of tapering down the larger awards over a three year period to release funding potential for new applicants.

Members requested that an application for a grant towards the "Headlights on `99" event, which was the subject of a later item on the agenda, be considered under that item.
