V26-1105 : EXTENSION OF 30MPH SPEED LIMIT - CARLTON COLVILLE
The report of the Director of Community Services set out an objection received to a Traffic Regulation Order advertised on 16 October 1998 proposing an extension of the existing 30mph speed limit in Beccles Road and the introduction of a 30mph speed limit in Chapel Road, Carlton Colville.
The objector considered that Beccles Road should remain at 40mph, on the basis that it was the main road from Lowestoft to Norwich, and only Chapel Road should change to 30mph. It was felt that the nature of Beccles Road was changing from a semi-rural road to an urban road as the new developments were constructed. There had been many past requests from residents to change the limit.
RESOLVED
That the Traffic Regulation Order for changes to the speed limits in Beccles Road and Chapel Road, Carlton Colville, be confirmed.
