V26-109 : BLUNDESTON MILLENNIUM GREEN TRUST
The report of the Director of Community Services outlined a request from the Blundeston Millennium Green Trust for grant aid to support the creation of a Millennium village green on 3.5 acres of Glebe land in the heart of the village. There was great local enthusiasm and support for the scheme and it was anticipated that much of the work would be done by voluntary labour.
The Trust had been awarded £8,000 by the Countryside Commission to meet 50% of the cost of the land, and a further sum of approximately £23,000 was needed. The community had raised in excess of £4,000 and other sources of grant aid were being pursued. RESOLVED
That a grant of £4,000 be made to the Blundeston Millennium Green Trust towards the purchase and creation of a village green for the community, to be met from the Minor Projects Capital budget.
