V26-106 : SHIP TO SHIP TRANSFER REGULATIONS
The report of the Director of Community Services provided an update on investigations commissioned by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) into the effect of the draft regulations to control the ship to ship transfer of oil. One of the two proposed designated areas for such regulated transfers was sited 9-12 miles off Southwold. The MCA proposed to make a presentation to consultees on 29 May 1998 in Woodbridge at which officers and the Chairman were invited to attend. The Chairman was unable to attend, but it was considered that officer attendance would negate the need for a substitute Councillor.
RESOLVED
That officers attend a forthcoming presentation by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency on the draft Ship to Ship Transfer Regulations.
