V26-1046 : PROTECTING THE PUBLIC PURSE - UPDATE

The report of the Chief Internal Auditor provided extracts from the latest update to "Protecting the Public Purse", the Audit Commission's report on fraud and corruption in Local Government.

The Council had taken action to implement most of the report's recommendations and it was now necessary to develop an "anti fraud" culture throughout the organisation to ensure that the policies which had been put in place were applied in practice.

RECOMMENDED

That the Audit Commission's latest update to Protecting the Public Purse be received and the action taken to implement its recommendations be approved.
