V26-1023 : W13547/2 - CHURCH CLOSE FARMHOUSE, 42 THE STREET, LOUND
Application to construct a detached dwelling.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control outlined the above resubmission of a previously refused application to construct a detached dwelling. The reasons for previous refusal were poor site layout and a design out of character with the street scene. The current proposal overcame the original objections by providing a scaled down design in keeping with the street scene. It also provided for a shared parking/turning area with Church Close Farmhouse with a detached garage positioned to the rear of the new dwelling. The Parish Council had no objection, although they had minor reservations concerning access and street scene. Neighbours had also raised objection to potential congestion on the shared driveway, loss of outlook, overlooking and to the proposed design. The Director considered that the new property would be positioned far enough forward from Church Close Farmhouse not to have an adverse impact on the existing property. It was also proposed to widen the existing driveway leading onto The Street, allowing space for two cars to pass. The development would continue the street scene and mark the end of development, and the recommendation of the Director was for approval of the amended design.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W13547/2.
