Application for erection of glass/polythene tunnels.

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above proposal was to erect a series of four polythene tunnels for plant growing at the Council nurseries off Monckton Avenue. Each tunnel would measure eight metres in width and 27 metres in length and be positioned towards the centre of the nurseries. The highest point of the tunnels would be four metres.

The tunnels would be situated within an area of existing shrub and tree screening and were not considered to be intrusive. A number of similar structures already existed on the site, and the Director recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That for the purposes of paragraph 4(5) of the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1976 planning permission be granted to application W2991/3.
