V26-1020 : W1125/55 - LEISURE WAY, LOWESTOFT
Application for change of use of car park to car boot/market.
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the above proposal was to use the main and overflow car parks at the Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park as a car boot sale and market site. The applicant had not specified on which days or at which times of the year this use would occur, however this type of use would be considered compatible with the existing site uses.
For reasons of congestion, however, the use as a market could only occur at times when the theme park was closed, and the Director recommended approval subject to a condition specifying this and signage along the A12 being restricted to the main approach road. Members agreed with this, but added that they would prefer to see predominant use of the main theme park car park to prevent the overflow car park, which was a field, being damaged.
RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W1125/55, subject to use as a market only at times when the theme park is closed, predominant use of the main theme park car park and signage along the A12 being restricted to the main approach road.
