V25-986 : W929/13 - SITE BETWEEN 18 AND 20 NETHERGATE STREET, BUNGAY

Application for construction of eight retirement dwellings with vehicular access, approval of reserved matters W929/9.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that the majority of this site came under the Broads Authority. However, they had delegated the decision to the Council provided that permitted development rights were removed.

This proposal was a great improvement on a previous scheme which was rejected on design grounds, and his only concern was that there was no outside storage. However, by extending the passage between the buildings to six foot and sub-dividing an external storage space could be achieved.

The Town Council's observation was for approval, subject to the undergrounding of services and the occupation restricted to retired persons.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W929/13, subject to the prior conclusion of a Section 106 Agreement restricting occupancy to retired persons, and the following:

(a) undergrounding of services;
(b) creation of external storage spaces;
(c) removal of permitted development rights.
