V25-917 : TOM MARTINS BOATYARD, SOUTHWOLD

The Director of Central Services reported that the above property, comprising approximately .105 of an acre of land, timber and corrugated iron building and slipway constructed at lessee's expense, was leased for 5 years from 1 August 1995 at £175 per annum. The lessee was suffering from ill health and wished to assign the lease to Mr J Ladd, a boatbuilder and existing lessee of the Council, and Mr D Ball. The assignment would not prejudice the Councils interests. However clause (j) of the lease prevented assignments.

RECOMMENDED

That clause (j) of the lease dated 29 April 1995 in respect of Tom Martin's Boatyard, Southwold be released to allow assignment of the lease to Mr J Ladd and Mr D Ball.
