V25-886 : MATERIALS RECLAMATION FACILITY, SLIE

The building agreement and lease for the site of the Materials Reclamation Facility (MRF) and the agreement by which the Council would use the MRF were both signed on 29 August 1997. Under the former, AntiWaste have 12 months to complete the building project but they hoped to be operational in a shorter period. They were currently negotiating with their architects and builders to set a programme, the outcome of which would be reported to Committee at a later date.

AntiWaste had extended an invitation for representatives from both Community Services and Housing and Environmental Services Committees to visit their facility in Norwich where they carried out similar sorting operations to those planned for SLIE.

RESOLVED

That Councillor R. Carter represent this Committee at a visit to AntiWaste's facility in Norwich, and attendance to be authorised as an approved duty.
