V25-859 : FROSTENDEN AND SOUTH COVE VILLAGE HALL

The Director of Central Services reported that the site of the Frostenden and South Cove Village Hall was leased to Trustees for a term of 60 years from 25 March 1952 at £0.50 per annum, and was part of a larger area acquired on this date for £80. The Trustees were interested whether the Lease would be reviewed after 25 March 2012 or whether the freehold could be acquired now.

The disposal of the freehold, subject to covenants to safeguard the site's future use was not likely to prejudice the Council's interest and would be helpful to the Trustees in acquiring grants etc.

RESOLVED

That the freehold interest on the site of Frostenden and South Cove Village Hall be sold to the Trustees for £50 subject to covenants to safeguard the future use of the site.
