V25-858 : ADVERTISING ON REFUSE FREIGHTERS

The Director of Community Services reported that some older refuse freighters had advertising boards carrying details of the client for the Refuse Service and the availability of the Trade Waste Collection Service. This had prompted the idea that refuse freighters could possibly be used to advertise either Council services or for commercial advertising.

Members were generally in favour of both suggested uses being looked into, however, concern was expressed that any private advertising should predominantly use the Council's corporate colours.

RESOLVED

That a further report be prepared into the potential for selling advertising space on refuse freighters.
