V25-844 : LAND AT BOASTS INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, COLLEGE LANE, ELLOUGH

PLANNING APPLICATION REFERRED FOR DECISION
The Committee considered the report of the Director of Planning and Building Control in respect of the above application which had been referred by the Rural Planning Sub-Committee for determination. The proposal was an outline application for the construction of a detached bungalow within Boasts Industrial Estate, College Lane, Ellough. The proposal was strictly contrary to Policy V5 as the site was set in the open Countryside and the need for the dwelling was not associated with either agricultural or forestry requirements. However, in this instance it was felt that the criteria of PPG7 to encourage rural enterprise applied and the on-site security provided by the proposal would help to strengthen and protect the existing employment facilities with no detriment to the rural environment. The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control and the Rural Planning Sub-Committee was for referral to the Planning and Transportation Committee with a recommendation for approval, subject to an occupancy condition. RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W16870, subject to an occupancy condition.
