V25-811 : W1626/6 - 18A STANLEY STREET, LOWESTOFT

Application for wholesale/retail fruit and vegetable sales, variation of condition No. 2, W1626/5.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this building had permission dating from 1984 for retail of frozen goods, and the use as proposed would be a variation on the authorised use to allow sale of fruit and vegetables, mainly for wholesale purposes. However, complaints had been received of disturbance at early hours, and arguably retail uses should be encouraged to locate within the shopping areas. There were also parking restrictions on both sides of the road and it was likely that approval would lead to illegally parked vehicles. The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was therefore for refusal.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W1626/6.
