Application for alterations and extension.

This application had been refused at the last meeting, with a recommendation that further negotiations with the applicant concerning parking provision should take place.

The Director of Planning and Building Control advised that six car parking spaces were required on the site per doctor, a total of 42 spaces, and 38 were actually available. This was not too far from the minimum standard of 42, and as the extension would be built to provide a less cramped environment in the surgery rather than room for extra patients, he recommended approval. The applicant had also agreed to rationalise the existing parking provision on the site and erect signs to direct patients to rear parking.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W1228/7.
