V25-78 : W8287/9 - SITE ADJACENT TO ST. ANDREWS CHURCH, HAWARD STREET, LOWEST

Application for approval of reserved matters W8287/6, construction of five terraced houses.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reminded the Sub-Committee that outline consent had been for an unspecified number of dwellings, and detailed consent for two of the five houses existed. The proposal was for a further three identical properties. The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal as submitted, although with amendments to allow parking standards to be met, the scheme for a further three houses could be recommended.

Members were concerned that the development was out of character with the street scene, and that the proposed amendments to meet car parking criteria would result in three even smaller properties.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W8287/9.
