V25-762 : OBJECTIVE 5B - RETAIL ISSUES
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Chief Executive which identified a problem that had emerged in terms of recent guidance from the Government Office for the Eastern Region concerning providing help to retail businesses in the Objective 5B zone of Waveney. It was suggested that the Council contested the guidance but put in place savings within the Economic Development Budget to cope with any extra costs that might ultimately need to be incurred. RECOMMENDED
1 That the problem identified by the Government Office for the Eastern Region in terms of utilising Objective 5B funds to provide business support for retail businesses be noted and contested. 2 That the Council continue to provide assistance to retail businesses through its Professional Services Voucher and Marketing Assistance Scheme.
