V25-761 : BUSINESS RATE GRANT SCHEME
The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Chief Executive which examined the escalating demand for the Council's Business Rate Grant Scheme caused by a recovery in the areas manufacturing base. The existing £75,000 budget was virtually committed supporting 58 firms and 280 jobs, and it was suggested that £10,000 from the Employment Generation Fund be invited to provide further grants for the rest of this financial year. RECOMMENDED
That the success of the Small Business rate grant be welcomed and additional grants be supported by utilising £10,000 from the Employment Generation Budget 1997/98.
