V25-745 : BUILDING CLEANING CONTRACT - BUDGET IMPLICATIONS

The Director of Community Services reported that the recent re-tendering of the Building Cleaning Contract produced overall savings of £8,382 on a full year. However, for the current year the overall effect would be neutral as the existing contract rates in use for the heaviest, first six months cancelled out the benefits of the new rates for the second six months. Taking inflation into account the saving for 1998/99 would be approximately £8,600.

Buildings from a number of committees were brought together under the Contract and within the overall savings there were significant shifts in costs between committees. The impact on committees was reported.

RECOMMENDED

That the building cleaning budget changes be approved.
