ANTI-POVERTY MEETING

The Director of Housing and Environmental Services reported that Suffolk County Council had agreed to host a meeting of elected members to discuss anti-poverty across the country.

The date and venue for the meeting had been arranged for the 8 October 1997, in the Council Chamber, County Hall, Ipswich. There was an invitation to all elected members from all local authorities in Suffolk. It was proposed that the members of this Council's Anti-Poverty Working Party be nominated.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. That Councillors R. Carter, Cherry, Crisp, Devereux and Holzer, be authorised to attend the Suffolk Local Government Association Anti-Poverty Meeting to be held at Ipswich on 8 October 1997 as an approved duty.

2. That other members of this Council may accept the invitation to attend, but not as an approved duty.
