V25-664 : LEISURE REVENUE GRANTS
The Committee considered the report of the Director of Community Services which proposed the setting up of a small working party of members and officers to review the leisure grants system and procedures. A number of grant applications were currently pending for which no budget provision was available, and members were asked to consider making the additional sum of £700 available to these applicants. Members were of the clear view, however, that Leisure Revenue Grants were allocated annually, and as the budget for 1997/98 had been allocated no supplementary applications could be considered. Councillor Stewart drew members' and officers' attention to the fact that details concerning Scott Hart, one of the grant applicants, were inaccurate. Correct details were received and would be placed on file. RESOLVED
1. That a Leisure Revenue Grants Review Working Party be established to review the leisure grants system and procedures. 2. That Councillors Stewart, Whatling and Whitlow be appointed to the Leisure Revenue Grants Review Working Party for 1997/98.
