V25-663 : THE EASTERN SCREEN COMMISSION

The Director of Community Services reported that the Eastern Screen Commission existed to promote film and video production in the region. The Commission was supported by the Film Industry and by various local authorities and public bodies.

The Council had supported the Commission since 1994 and had enjoyed some success with film and television production taking place in the District. Members were asked to review their commitment since it began in 1994.

The Economic Development Sub-Committee also considered this item at its meeting on 28 August 1997, and approved the recommendation.

RESOLVED

That the yearly membership subscription of £1,200 to the Eastern Screen Commission be continued, to be met from the Tourism Publicity Budget.
