V25-65 : A/W117/2 - 45 LONDON ROAD SOUTH, LOWESTOFT

Application for illuminated information panel.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this sign, which had already been erected, was over-large and crudely designed and was also within the Lowestoft Conservation Area. He recommended refusal and strict enforcement.

The Sub-Committee were not against some kind of advertisement on this highly visible, large gable end, however any advertisement should be of a high standard of design and appearance.

RESOLVED

1. That planning permission be refused to application A/W117/2.

2. That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all necessary action to secure the removal of the information panel.
