V25-649 : TRIANGLE MARKET AREA IMPROVEMENTS

The Committee considered the report of the Director of Community Services which outlined the Working Party's considerations of objections to the amended Traffic Regulation Orders advertised on 23 May 1997.

Member concerns were expressed at the practicality of the working of the 10.30 am to 4.00 pm vehicular access ban in relation to deliveries. The Leader of the Council and Vice-Chairman of the Committee reminded members that the proposals were for a year's trial, and any comments/objections could be made during that time.

RESOLVED

1. That the proposed Traffic Regulation Order for the High Street and Triangle Market Area be amended to permit contraflow cycling in High Street north from the new market area.

2. That the Traffic Regulation Orders for High Street and Triangle Market be confirmed as amended.

3. That a Public Inquiry was not necessary, due to the extensive consultation that had been undertaken and the nature of the objections received.
