V25-620 : W5563/11 - LOWESTOFT RAILWAY BOWLS AND SOCIAL CLUB, CARLTON ROAD, LO

Application to extend bowling hall and social club, alterations to car park and vehicular access and improved landscaping.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this proposal would result in overdevelopment of a backland site by virtue of inadequate parking provision and traffic circulation. This would be likely to lead to an unacceptable level of disturbance to adjoining residential properties and the strong possibility of further on-street parking on Carlton Road.

Objections had been received, and the recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal.

RESOLVED

That a site meeting be held at the location of application W5563/11, and attendance be authorised as an approved duty.

(Councillors Cherry and Keable declared an interest in the above item, and left the room during the debate).
