Application for alterations and extension.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that although the proposed extension, which included a flat roof, was of a poor external design, the impact on the street scene should not justify refusal. However, the proposal did not include any additional off-street parking on a site which was already deficient in parking facilities, and traffic conditions in Victoria Road precluded it being used for overflow parking. His recommendation was therefore for refusal.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W1228/7, with negotiations taking place with the applicant concerning the acquisition of further car parking spaces.
