Outline application for erection of Place of Worship and associated car park with new vehicular access.

This application had been deferred at the last meeting of the Sub-Committee for a site meeting.

The Parish Council still objected in principle, but the recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for approval. There was concern expressed over the design and scale of the proposed place of worship, and pictures were circulated showing similar previous schemes. Members were also concerned at the lack of community facilities in the building, but the Director of Planning and Building Control advised that the application was only before members for outline approval, and that detailed matters such as design would be brought to the Sub-Committee at a later date.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W1265/8, subject to a Section 106 Agreement to secure public access to part of the open space to be retained.
