Application for erection of conservatory/residents lounge over existing patio area.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that an application for a conservatory on the north side of the property had been approved in 1996, and that the current application was to move the location of the conservatory. However, the proposal would increase parking demand on the site, which was already deficient in car parking provision.

There had been an objection to the proposal from a neighbour concerned with the increased capacity of the building. The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for approval subject to consultation on a revised parking layout of the site, and the voluntary revocation of planning application W6548/7. There would also be a condition placed on any approval that the new conservatory would not come into use until parking provision had been satisfactorily agreed.

RESOLVED

1. That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W6548/8 upon voluntary revocation of application W6548/7 without payment of compensation, and subject to satisfactory consultation on parking provision at the site.

2. That a condition be imposed on application W6548/8 that the conservatory not be brought into use until car parking is provided.
