V25-608 : EADE'S FARM, CARLTON COLVILLE - STORAGE OF BUILDING MATERIALS
In late 1996, a Barnby landowner, against whom enforcement action was being taken for an unauthorised builder's yard, complained of a similar instance at Eade's Farm. Investigation proved this to be true. The farm was owned by a Lowestoft builder, who had an adequate yard in town to take the variety of bricks, tiles, slabs, pipes etc kept in this open rural setting without screening. The only notable concession so far had been the removal of a portakabin. Some materials were claimed to be in connection with drainage works for the farm and for proposed stables, although there was no planning permission for these. In December 1996 the owner's agent had written that he was negotiating to relocate his main yard within Lowestoft and redevelop it for housing. However, there were no signs of progress on this and, in any case, should have no bearing on the Eade's Farm issue. The agent had been asked to provide a timetable of action for relocation, redevelopment and removal of building materials not directly for use on the farm. If this was submitted and covered a reasonable period of months it could provide a timetable for compliance with an enforcement notice. RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all pursuant action to secure the cessation of the builder's yard use, including removal of all materials and equipment not for farm use, at Eade's Farm, Carlton Colville.
