Application for Advertisement Consent for an information sign/direction panel.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal as it was inappropriate to permit signs of this nature along the main road, and would be an unacceptable precedent.

Councillors were sympathetic however to the needs of the Bed and Breakfast concern which was effectively cut off by the newer main A146, and suggested that the owner be put in touch with the County Council in the hope that he would qualify under the new 'brown sign' criteria.

RESOLVED

That Advertisement Consent be refused to application A/W840.
